When you bring MMC Inc. on-board on a project, we will provide you with a comprehensive proposal that has been developed specifically for your needs and the needs of your client. It includes a proposed scope of work, a general system discription based upon our initial meeting with you and your client, a comprehensive scope of work by phase (as described below) and, of cousre, a detailed break-down of our professional consulting fee's.

Project Phases
Programming

MMC attends programming meetings with the Owner, interviewing them to determine their specific audiovisual system needs and requirements. MMC then prepares a comprehensive Programming Report based on the information obtained from the programming meeting and will release it for review and approval by the Owner. When the Owner has ‘signed off' on the audiovisual systems described in the Programming Report, MMC will begin developing the design and project documentation.

Schematic Design

MMC develops the Schematic Design (AVS drawings) and prepares a comprehensive cost estimate. The Schematic Design is a complete conceptual single line diagram detailing the connections and system design.

The cost estimate will provide the Owner with a range of the installed cost of the audiovisual system. The cost estimate is specific to Division 11 (17) and does not cover the supporting infrastructure.

Design Development

MMC prepares a preliminary design and a set of coordination drawings. The preliminary design, (AVI) drawings will consist of schedules, AV back boxes on architectural backgrounds, conduit risers, infrastructure details, specifications sections 11135 (AV Equipment) and 11130 (Projection Screens). A set of Audio Visual Coordination (AVC) drawings will be released to the design team only and are not part of the Contract Documents. The AVC drawing set will include information specific to the structural engineer, mechanical engineer, electrical engineer and the architect that will allow us to coordinate the audiovisual system into the project.

Contract Documents

MMC will develop the preliminary design into biddable Contract Documents. The Contract Documents will consist of Audio Visual Infrastructure (AVI) drawings, Audio Visual System (AVS) drawings, Sections 11130 and 11135 equipment specifications. The AVI category drawings will show all of the schedules, conduit risers, AV back-box locations on the project's backgrounds and infrastructure details. The AVS category drawings develop the single line diagrams, AV panels, AV equipment and system details. We will attend three meetings to finalize the coordination.

Construction Administration

MMC can assist with contractor qualification, the bid process, contractor selection and attend site inspections. During the bidding process MMC will answer RFIs, review the contractor qualifications, review the bids and make recommendations. After the contract has been awarded MMC will attend a ‘kick-off' meeting with the contractor and review two sets of the contractor's shop drawings. When the contractor has finished building the system, MMC will perform an inspection in the contractor's shop to inspect the equipment racks and sub-assemblies. When construction is complete, MMC performs an initial and a final field inspection: a substantial completion inspection and a final inspection. After MMC has verified that the contractor has completed all of the requirements of the Contract Documents, MMC will provides training session with the Owner.
